Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) president Ram Vilas Paswan met Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Lal Krishna Advani on Saturday and reportedly discussed the future prospects of his party within the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
Paswan has been trying to boost his party prospects within the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the run-up to the general elections due by May.
Paswan's son Chirag said he was confident that all other like-minded parties would also join the NDA.
"We are confident that with the alliance of Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) with NDA (National Democratic Alliance) all other allies will also join the team. NDA will emerge as a big forum in coming months," said he.
The LJP was previously in an alliance with the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and was associated with the Congress.
Reportedly, Paswan's 'U-turn' comes as he is upset with Congress for not conceding more than five seats to his party in the Lok Sabha, whereas he wanted a minimum of 10 seats.
