A look-alike of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, Abhinandan Pathak, started an election campaign for the party on Tuesday in Varanasi.

Pathak said he will campaign and back Modi to be the next prime minister of the country.

"I have taken an oath to campaign for the Bharatiya Janata Party across the nation until Narendra Modi becomes the prime minister of this country. I will specially campaign for Modi and back him for the post of prime minister," said Pathak.

People surrounded Pathak and also garlanded him during the campaign.

On Sunday, women conducted special prayers to ensure Modi's poll victory from Varanasi.
