Yoga guru Baba Ramdev said that the demise of Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) MP Mahant Chandnath is a big loss to the saint community.
"Mahant Chandnath was a one of the most glorious saint in Nath sect. He was suffering from cancer from past few days and fought a lot. It's been a loss to our saint society," Ramdev told ANI.
Chandnath took his last breath on Saturday at around 11:45 p.m. at Delhi's Apollo Hospital.
Chandnath headed the Nath sect of Hinduism and was also the chancellor of the Mast Nath University.
Chandnath first won the by-elections in 2014 from Rajasthan's Behror seat.
In 2014, he defeated Jitendra Singh of the Congress to become a MP from Alwar.
