Maharashtra have been experiencing a good monsoon this year with surplus rain registered in almost all the parts of the state.
According to the MeT department, more rains are expected to lash Mumbai and various parts of the state in coming days.
The department had earlier predicted heavy rains for the weekend.
The city and its adjoining parts have so far received three fourths of July rain.
Other parts of the state have till now witnessed 26 percent excess rainfall.
While Marathwada has received a surplus rainfall of little less than 18 percent, Vidharbha has observed a 38 percent surplus rainfall.
Other parts of the state like Konkan and Madhya Maharashtra have received surplus rainfall of 23 percent and 19 percent.
