Malaysia: PM Modi meets Chinese Premier Li Keqiang

Commencing his bilateral engagements after landing in Malaysia today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met the Chinese Premier Li Keqiang here.

"A lot of important decisions were made yesterday when Home Minister Rajnath Singh met the Chinese Premier and I am grateful for China's contribution," Prime Minister Modi said.

The Prime Minister held delegation level talks with China following which he will address the ASEAN Business and Investment Summit.

He arrived here today early morning and was warmly welcomed by the High Commissioner of India to Malaysia T.S. Tirumurti at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport.

"Reached Kuala Lumpur. Today's programmes include ASEAN Business & Investment Summit, 13th ASEAN-India Summit & one-to-one meetings," the Prime Minister tweeted upon his arrival.

Later in the day, Prime Minister Modi will attend a lunch hosted by his Japanese counterpart Shinzo Abe.

During his four day two-nation trip, the Prime minister will also visit Singapore during which a number of important agreements are likely to be signed.

Prime Minister Modi has said that his visits to both countries are focused to make the economic ties stronger and also to strengthen the security cooperation.

The Prime Minister will address the East Asia Summit on Sunday.
