A man named Shyam Pandey died today in Delhi after getting electrocuted at a Union Bank ATM.
Pandey's relative, Suresh Bharadwaj, with whom he was staying from past 10 to 15 years said, "He came here to withdraw money, it was drizzling, and as soon as he touched the gate, he got electrocuted.
"The kids told me somebody is lying outside the ATM, and when I asked them to pick him, they also felt the electric shock. I called up the police and electrician, but only the police reached, not the electrician, and they didn't even cut the power line for at least thirty minutes. After the crowd gathered, they disconnected line. It was raining also and the man was lying outside the ATM," added a local resident Deepak Tyagi.
Pandey used to work in a factory and was married with three kids, two boys and one girl. He was operating the ATM for the past two-and-a-half years.
