Man Utd being judged unfairly, insists Mourinho post Everton draw

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has alleged he is being treated unfairly by the critics after his side were held to a 1-1 draw against Everton in their Premier League clash at the Goodison Park last evening.

A last-minute penalty by defender Leighton Baines saw Everton cancel Zlatan Ibrahimovic's 42nd-minute goal to settle with a stalemate.

The Old Trafford club have managed to win just twice in the league since the end of August, a run which featured numerous draws and derailed United's hopes of winning a title under new manager Mourinho.

In spite of the same, the Portuguese manager insisted his side are playing well and that they are becoming victim of double standards in the media.

"You have to make a decision because when my teams are playing pragmatic football and winning matches and winning titles, you say it is not right and nice," Sport24 quoted Mourinho as saying.

"When my teams play very, very well, there is a huge change in relation to the past two or three years. Now you say what matters is to get results, no matter what," he added.

Mourinho also defended his decision to bring on Marouane Fellaini as a late substitute, saying the reason to use the Belgian was obvious because of his height and Everton's approach.

Fellaini conceded a penalty moments after his 85th-minute arrival which eventually allowed Everton to snatch a point.

"I thought you would know more about football than you do. It is obvious. Everton is not a passing team. They play direct. Everything is direct," he said."When a team is losing it plays direct, when you have a player on the bench with two metres (height) you play that player in front of the defensive line to win the match."

United, who slipped 13 points behind Mourinho's former club and leaders Chelsea in the Premier League title race, will now welcome Tottenham Hotspur to Old Trafford on Sunday .
