Maoists have killed two persons in Kumbhariput village in Odisha's Koraput District, suspecting them to be police informers. They also set a couple of vehicles on fire.
Inspector Bimal Mallik said police are investigating the case.
The deceased have been identified as Bandhu Saraka and Gato Huika.
Police said letters found at the spot clearly indicated that Saraka and Huika were informers in the eyes of the rebels.
Police, however, said both were not police informers.
The Maoists also attacked and damaged a road construction site.
