Hollywood actor and philanthropist Matt Damon has reportedly expressed support for what NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden did for the country.
Damon, who himself has played the character of a CIA agent in movies like 'The Good Shepherd' and 'Bourne' series said that Snowden seems like a very conscientious guy and what he did is a great thing.
According to Newsmax, Damon said that Snowden's revelations about the secret surveillance programmes are incredible and shocking adding that if citizens are going to trade their civil liberties for their security, then that should be a decision that they collectively make and shouldn't be made by anyone else.
Questioning the extent of the surveillance measures Damon asked that to what degree are the citizens willing to sacrifice those liberties for the security should be discussed collectively and not simply done, the report added.
