New Zealand cricket captain Brendon McCullem went to the High Court last night to stop the Sunday Star Times from printing a story on fellow teammate Chris Cairns' perjury case.

Justice David Gendall gave an ex parte interim junction on the newspaper to stop it from reporting the story.

McCullen's behind the scenes machinations could be entered as evidence in the case, reported Stuff.co.nz.

The junction prevents the newspaper from publishing certain information until the judge can hear the matter.
