Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie had chosen a retired California judge, John Ouderkirk, as the officiant for their wedding at the family's French estate, Chaeau Miraval.
The judge, who was one of only 20 attendees at the close family ceremony, is a former Marine and Santa Monica, California police officer, and currently handles conflict-resolution cases for private firms, People Magazine reported.
Ouderkirk had earlier come into limelight in 1993 for presiding over the contentious topic of two black men accused of trying to murder white truck driver, Reginald Denny, during 1992's riots in South-Central Los Angeles.
