Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff has ruled out speculations that Red Bull driver Daniel Ricciardo might join the Silver Arrows next year.

Riccardo's current contract with Red Bull is set to expire at the end of this season, with the 28-year-old Australian has also been linked to a potential move to Ferrari or Formula One champions Mercedes.

However, Wolff played down the same by insisting that Mercedes are not looking for drivers and that they are happy with Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas.

"At the moment we are not looking at drivers outside of Mercedes. First of all, we support our two guys. That is the priority. If you're happy with your wife, you don't look at other women,"Sport24 quoted Wolff, as saying.

Wolff's comments came despite Mercedes have two open cars for next year with both champion Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas yet to re-sign beyond the 2018 season.

The Mercedes team boss further clarified that if the team have to make any changes next year then they might rope in the replacements from the Mercedes pool.

"We are very happy with how Valtteri has been driving and we do not need to talk about Lewis - I think he's the best driver today. Then there are the young guys with us like Esteban Ocon and George (Russell). I'm optimistic about the future of Mercedes," he said.

Mercedes are currently standing at the second spot in Formula One Constructors' Championship behind Ferrari.
