A new data released by Flurry Analytics revealed that the overall app usage in 2013 saw 115% growth over the year, with Messaging apps showing year-over-year growth of 203%, leading other popular categories.
The increasing competition among the app store's competitive nature signals that only a minuscule number of apps (0.01% by 2018) have attained success, Tech Crunch reported.
However, that hasn't affected the growth of the number of applications available and their usage. The rate at which apps are being downloaded, it is evident that their usage hasn't dropped.
Flurry said that these messaging apps have the potential to be a platform of their own and sell physical products.
