The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Thursday declared the suspension of DANICs officers by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) led-Delhi Government 'non est' (null and void).

The MHA received Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung's reference of suspension of two officers of DANICS and then declared Delhi Government's suspension order null and void.

Reacting to the MHA's declaration, Delhi Health Minister Satyendra Jain said that it was a conspiracy and a planned strategy.

"Why are they going on a one-day leave? Why don't they go for a one month leave rather than a day strike? Then we will show what good governance really looks like. Delhi public will be more satisfied and the national capital will be more corruption free," he told ANI.

The Delhi Government had earlier defended the suspension of two senior officers of its Home Department, saying that it was administrative matter and a cabinet decision was failed to be implemented.

The state government had yesterday suspended two senior officers of its Home Department after they refused to sign on a Cabinet decision file, following which around 200 DANICS-cadre officers have threatened to go on mass leave today.

Yashpal Garg, special secretary (Prosecution), and Subhash Chandra, special secretary (Prisons), have been suspended.

Following the threat of strike, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Vijender Gupta had also asserted that Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal should immediately resign on moral grounds.
