Michael Douglas, who is married to Catherine Zeta-Jones, has confessed that his only regret in life is not splitting from his former wife Diandra Luker sooner.
The 'Basic Instinct' actor, who split from Luker in 2000, said that though he has nothing against his first wife and is fond of her; he asserted that they should have ended that marriage eight or 10 years earlier, the Mirror reported.
The 68-year-old Academy Award winner said that it took him too long to realize that going to a marriage counselor doesn't solve the problems, as it is in the therapist's interest to keep the marriage going for he would have no business otherwise.
