Microsoft is reportedly releasing the Surface Power Cover later this month.
The accessory that functions as both a keyboard as well as an external battery is more than double the thickness and weight of the Type Cover 2.
However, the Power Cover's battery life will be up by 70 percent, adding up to 30Wh to the tablet.
According to the Verge, while the typing experience on the Power Cover will be similar to the original Type Cover, it will not include the backlit improvements that the Type Cover 2 ships with.
Meanwhile, the software giant is taking preorders for the Surface Power Cover in the US, Canada, and Japan and it's priced at 199.99 dollars with a shipping date of March 19th.
