Mindy Kaling finally breaks silence about her pregnancy

After weeks of speculation, American actress, comedian, and author Mindy Kaling has finally confirmed that she's pregnant with her first child.

In a sneak peek from 'Sunday Today With Willie Geist', the 38-year-old opens up for the first time about being 'really excited' for parenthood, reports E! Online.

"It's so unknown to me. I have a lot of control over a lot of aspects of my life, and this is one where I'm like, 'OK, it's out of my hands,' which is kind of a fun feeling."

The comedienne also said she hopes to be like her own mother.

"My mom was incredibly fierce and so devoted to us but was just loved us and really wanted us to be happy no matter what we did," 'The Mindy Project' star explained. "My career choice was not something she was familiar with, and she was just so supportive of that, and if I could give that to my child, just that open-mindedness, I'd be so happy."

Kaling, who has not yet publicly identified who the father of the baby, is currently filming the final season of her 'Hulu' series and will soon begin production on 'Champions.
