Reacting to the statement of Minister of State in the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) Dr. Jitendra Singh calling for a debate on Article 370, Communist Party of India (CPI) leader D Raja on Wednesday said ministers should be careful while expressing their views on 'sensitive and strategic issues'.
"It is a new government and there are some ministers who are cautious in expressing themselves, and there are some who are yet to realize their responsibilities. The ministers should be careful while talking about sensitive issues like Article 370," said D Raja.
"It is a strategic and sensitive issue. He should not have made such a statement. Now, it is for the Prime Minister to restrict his ministers from making such statements," he added.
Dr. Jitendra Singh had on Tuesday kicked up a controversy after he made a statement calling for a debate on Article 370, which gives special and autonomous status to the state of Jammu and Kashmir.
