The missing Malaysia Airline plane MH370 reportedly flew around the Indonesian airspace after it took off from Malaysia, a senior Malaysian government source has revealed.
The source said that the new analysis suggests that the plane was deliberately flown along a route designed to evade radar detection.
According to CNN, after reviewing radar track data from neighboring countries, officials have concluded that the passenger jet curved north of Indonesia before turning south toward the southern Indian Ocean.
Meanwhile, a Chinese ship picked up an electronic pulsing signal twice and an Australian ship reported that it detected a signal in a different area on Sunday.
Angus Houston, the head of the Australian agency coordinating search operations, said that this is an important and encouraging lead, but one that should be treated carefully.
However, he said that the sounds were fleeting acoustic events.
While the possibility that the plane was hijacked by someone who knew how to fly a commercial jet is still on the table, authorities have also been investigating the plane's captain and co-pilot, the report added.
