Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi is scheduled to address a rally in Bangalore today.
According to TV reports, around three lakh people are expected to attend the 'mega rally' in the city which will take place at the Palace Grounds.
The rally in Karnataka is crucial for the party which is hoping to work the Gujarat Chief Minister magic to bring the party back to power in the state.
The BJP had lost the Karnataka Assembly polls earlier this year and Congress came to power.
Karnataka has 28 seats in the Lok Sabha and of those, 19 seats are held by the BJP. However, BJP's recent poor show in the state Assembly polls will weigh heavy on the party's state.
The B S Yeddyurappa factor will also be critical for the BJP, as it is in a predicament on whether to bring the former chief minister back into its fold or rely on his outside support.
Yeddyurappa formed his own political party Karnataka Janata Party (KJP) after splitting with BJP a year ago.
However, Modi assured his party workers and supporters that he would leave no stone unturned in ensuring that the BJP emerges victorious in the 2014 Lok Sabha polls.
