Former England Test bowler Robin Jackman has described Morne Morkel as one of the best support bowlers he has seen.

Sport24 quoted Jackman, now an astute analyst of international cricket, as saying that Morkel was the perfect foil to Dale Steyn during the first Galle Test against Sri Lanka.

It maybe recalled that Morkel finished with a match-haul of seven for 78, while Steyn captured nine for 99 in the first Test to set up an emphatic 153-run win for South Africa against Sri Lanka.

Jackman said that Dale Steyn was the Rolls Royce of good bowlers, but still needed the support of Morkel to see the side through.
