Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho, his assistant Rui Faria and midfielder Ramires have reportedly been hit with disciplinary action by the Football Association (FA) charged following their side's Premier League defeat against Sunderland.

Ramires, who could now miss Chelsea's top-of-the-table clash with Liverpool on Sunday, was hit with a violent conduct charge after appearing to elbow Sunderland's Sebastian Larsson off the ball while coach Faria was charged with using 'abusive and/or insulting words towards the Fourth Official' as well as 'improper conduct'.

The report mentioned that Mourinho sarcastically congratulated the match referees in the immediate aftermath of the match, which landed him with a misconduct charge.

The FA said in a statement that a three-man panel of former elite referees have reviewed Ramires' conduct and were unanimous that it was an act of violent conduct, adding that Mourinho's comments constitute improper conduct as they question the integrity of the referee appointed to the above fixture, bringing the game into disrepute.

Ramires has until Thursday to respond to the charge while Mourinho, who was fined 8000 pounds and warned about his future conduct, and Faria have until Monday to respond to the charge, the report added.
