A day after heavy downpour and flooding, life in Mumbai was back on track on Saturday after the rain stopped and water in many areas receded.

According to reports, except for some low lying areas, water has receded allowing vehicular traffic to resume in the city.

Although the water level of Mithi river has also reduced, civic officials have issued a warning to people living very close to the river as a precautionary measure.

However, the Maharashtra Government has directed all schools and colleges in the city and neighbouring Thane district to remain closed today.
