British tennis player Andy Murray's clay-court win at the Munich Open on Monday has helped him to consolidate his third place ATP ranking.
The 27-year-old claimed the first clay-court title of his career by seeing off Germany's Philipp Kohlschreiber in a tough three-setter 7-6 (7/4), 5-7, 7-6 (7/4) in just over three hours in the rain-delayed final.
He became the first British player to win an ATP clay-court tournament since Englishman Christopher "Buster" Mottram in April 1976.
The rankings of players as of May 4 are as follows:
1. Novak Djokovic (SRB) 13 845 pts
2. Roger Federer (SUI) 8 635
