16-time Grand Slam champion Rafael Nadal continues to remain at the top of the ATP men's rankings after lifting his sixth title of the season at the China Open in Beijing.

Nadal extended his winning streak to 12 straight after defeating Australia's Nick Kyrgios 6-2, 6-1 in what turned out to be a one-sided summit clash of the men's singles event on Sunday.

The Spaniard is currently standing at the number one spot with 9,875 points and maintains a comfortable lead of 2.370 over Swiss maestro Roger Federer.

British tennis maestro Andy Murray holds on to the third place ahead of Germany's Alexander Zverev, Croatian player Marin Cilic and Serbian star Novak Djokovic, reports Sport24.

Meanwhile, Belgian tennis player David Goffin also moved into the top 10 of the ATP Rankings after clinching a Japan Open title with a 6-3, 7-5 win over Adrian Mannarino of France.

Goffin, who climbed up a place to 10th spot, is well placed for the season-ending ATP finals in London in November.

South Africa's Kevin Anderson, on the other hand, also surged up a spot to return to top 15 in the world.

The current ATP top 10 are

1. Rafael Nadal

2. Roger Federer

4. Alexander Zverev

5. Marin Cilic

6. Novak Djokovic

7. Dominic Thiem

8. Stan Wawrinka
