Nara Lokesh markets Andhra Pradesh in Davos

Andhra Pradesh Information Technology minister Nara Lokesh on Wednesday marketed Andhra Pradesh in front of investors at a round table conference on 'development of manufacturing sector and action to be taken' organised by the Indian government at Invest India Lounge here in Davos.

Lokesh elaborated the measures taken by the Andhra Pradesh government for development of industrial sector, specifically manufacturing sector.

He said, "We are taking a lot of steps for promoting industries and manufacturing in Andhra Pradesh. We brought in new policies and incentives in this regard".

"We are number 1 in Ease of Doing Business. A lot of companies are coming forward to invest. Kia Motors, Apollo tyres, Hero Moto Corp and Isuzu are coming to Andhra Pradesh", he added.

He also said, "We are bringing in electronics policy which enables in creating complete ecosystem for manufacturing in the state. We had set up two Electronics manufacturing clusters in Andhra Pradesh. Companies like Foxconn, Celkon, Karbonn and Dixon have started their operations."

He welcomed investors to contribute to the state's growth and explained that the Andhra Pradesh government brought in new policies and is providing subsidies.

"All licenses and permissions required for setting up of industries are being given at fast pace. The decisions being taken by Government of India for industrial development are yielding good results," the IT minister added.

Additional Secretary, Industrial Promotions, Atul Chaturvedi lauded that the policies Andhra Pradesh is adopting are so lucrative, and for the same many big industrial houses are stepping in the state.

Deepak Bagla, CEO Invest India; Manish Aggrawal of PWC; and industrialists from many countries participated in the meeting.
