After being appointed chairman of the BJP's campaign committee for the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi will address his first public rally at Madhopur in Punjab's Pathankot district on Sunday.
Madhopur is known for Bharatiya Jan Sangh founder Shyama Prasad Mukherjee's last rally in 1953 against Article 370. He addressed this rally just days before he died.
The rally will coincide with Mukherjee's 60th death anniversary.
Modi, who is touted by many to be the BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate, was earlier this month appointed as the chairman of campaign committee for the 2014 polls.
