New train services launched in Northeast

People of the Northeast are set to benefit from new train services launched after the completion of North Lakhimpur-Murkongselek and Balipara- Bhalukpong sections into broad-gauge.

Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu launched the service yesterday through video conferencing from New Delhi and described the occasion as a "Golden Day" in the history of Arunachal Pradesh, as per reports.

Prabhu said the state is getting second Broad Gauge connectivity with the commissioning of Balipara-Bhalukpong gauge conversion.
