Barcelona star striker Neymar believes that Cristiano Ronaldo should be punished following the Portugal captain's violent conduct during Real Madrid's 2-1 win over Cordoba.
The Portuguese international was given straight red card for punching and kicking defender Edimar inside Cordoba's penalty area.
Seeking an apology, Ronaldo later took to Twitter saying that he was asking forgiveness from everyone, especially Edimar for his thoughtless act.
Reflecting on Ronaldo's action, Neymar said that forwards were exposed to provocations and intimidation and sometimes one lose their nerve, Sport24 reported.
However, Neymar further said that it was clear they couldn't do that under any circumstances, adding that Real Madrid forward must be punished because of the aggression, the report added.
If Ronaldo gets a three-match ban, he would miss scheduled matches against Real Sociedad, Atletico Madrid and a postponed match against Sevilla.
