No point of dialogue unless Pak gives up terrorism: BJP

Rejecting Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's statement that they are willing to hold dialogue with India without any preconditions, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday said that dialogue with Islamabad was pointless unless it gives up terrorism.

"India has always wanted dialogue. It is Pakistan which has always derailed the talks. They run away from dialogue because they cannot stop doing what they do. Pakistan government says something, and the ISI and terrorist organisations there do something else. Unless Pakistan gives up terrorism, there is no point of dialogue," BJP spokesperson Shahnawaz Hussain told ANI.

Sharif had reportedly said that his government is willing to hold dialogue with India without preconditions.

He said this during his meeting with British Prime Minister David Cameron on the sidelines of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) at Fort Angelo in Maltese capital Valletta on Friday.

Sharif also reportedly said that dialogue with India was key to sustainable peace in the region.
