The Sports Ministers of both North and South Korea on Monday agreed to push for a joint march in the upcoming Asian Games in August.
During a meeting at Mansudae Assembly Hall at Pyongyang, South Korean Sports Minister Do Jong-whan and his North Korean counterpart Kim Il-guk discussed ways to expand inter-Koran sports exchanges, as reported by the South Korea's Yonhap News Agency.
The Sports Ministers further agreed to engage in specific talks on a range of issues including holding a unified march under the same flag at the Asian Games following the much-anticipated Inter-Koran summit to be held on April 27.
"If North and South Korea meet often for talks and come together in sports, we'll have no problem becoming the No. 1 in Asia, and we'll also be a force to be reckoned with internationally," Kim Il-guk said.
On the other hand Do Jong-Whan touted sports to be a route for inter-Korean reconciliation.
"It'd be great if we can have working-level discussions and start working on specific agreements after the summit at the end of April. I hope sports can lead the way for inter-Korean reconciliation" Do said.
Earlier on Monday, South Korea's taekwondo demonstration team gave a joint performance with a North Korean team in Pyongyang Grand Theater.
