A new app has been launched that can stop people from making ill-advised drunken phone calls, by forcing them to solve complex math problems.

The free mobile app allows users to block contacts for up to 12 hours as a precaution, E! Online reported.

Other functionality offered by the app includes the "Bread Crumbs" mode, which uses GPS to track the movements of the phone user.

Fellow Drunk Mode app users can also use the app to find one another.
