New Zealand's media has claimed that Jesse Ryder's positive drug test has raised uncomfortable and recurring questions for the country's sport bosses.
According to stuff.co.nz, High Performance Sport New Zealand, the body responsible for looking after the nation's best athletes had not advised Ryder properly about the weight-loss substance he was going to consume.
The report said that Ryder's drug test would affect New Zealand's reputation.
The actions of support staffs of various sports may not have been scrutinized closely enough in the recent past, the report added.
