One girl was killed and 15 others sustained injuries when a bus turned turtle in Chennai over the weekend.
A government bus en route to Salem district from Chennai toppled near Thiruneermalai on the bypass road.
The girl identified as Sathya Dharshini died on the spot. She hailed from Tiruchirappalli, around 300 kms from Chennai.
According to the bus conductor the driver lost control of the vehicle due to over speed.
"About 20 passengers were in bus but suddenly it lost control and turned down. I don't know what happened after," said Jai Shankar, bus conductor.
The injured were rushed to a nearby government hospital where they are undergoing treatment.
