A statement issued by the Army on Friday confirmed that one terrorist was killed in an attack in Mahura Camp, near Rampur in Uri sector of Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla district.
"One terrorist has been confirmed killed till last reports received. Operations in progress," the army statement said.
"An attack by a group of terrorists took place at Mahura Camp, near Rampur in Uri sector at 0300 hrs in the morning today. The Quick Response Teams (QRT) were rushed and the terrorists were surrounded," the statement added.
"One QRT vehicle was fired upon by terrorists on the main road which fell down and caused fatal casualty to one officer and 2 Jawans of the Army," the statement further said.
Earlier today, five Army jawans and two police personnel were killed after six militants attacked an Army camp in Baramullah.
