OneRepublic has beaten Miley Cyrus by topping the singles chart with their latest track 'Counting Stars'.

The band's frontman, Ryan Tedder confessed that this was by far the coolest thing that had happened to them, the BBC reported.

The 34-year-old singer added that he had plenty of number ones with other artists, for whom he wrote songs, but never with this band.

Lawson went straight in at number three with Juliet, followed by Blunt, while Eminem's Rap God debuted at number five.
