The soon to call it quits US' Homeland Security secretary has reportedly warned her successor of serious cyber attacks and unprecedented natural disasters looming the US soil.
Janet Napolitano in her farewell speech reflected on her four-plus years as a member of president Barack Obama's cabinet but warned that of the future threats and asked the yet-announced successor to bring 'a large bottle of Advil'.
She said that many things still need tending and her successor will most certainly have a full plate on his or her hands, ABC News reports.
Warning the successor, she further said that the newcomer will have to prepare for the increasing likelihood of more weather-related events of a more severe nature as a result of climate change and continue to build the capacity to respond to potential disasters in far-flung regions of the country occurring at the same time.
The report said that Napolitano will quit her current post to become the next president of the University of California system and Rand Beers, the current undersecretary for National Protection and Programs, will serve as acting DHS secretary until a replacement for Napolitano is confirmed by the US Senate.
