Pakistan's Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif has approved the death sentences of 11 convicts after completion of their trials by military tribunals.
According to an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) statement, the eleven hardcore terrorists were involved in committing heinous offences related to terrorism, reports the Dawn.
The offences include killing and kidnapping civilians, attacks on the armed forces and Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) and destruction of schools and communication infrastructure.
The convicts have been identified as Muhammad Umar, Hameedullah, Rehmatullah, Muhammad Nabi, Moulvi Dilbar Khan, Rizwan Ullah, Gul Rehman, Muhammad Ibrahim, Sardar Ali, Sher Muhammad Khan and Muhammad Jawad.
All of them were the leaders and members of the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan and were arrested from different areas.
After the terrorist attack on an army school in December 2014, army courts were set up for the speedy trial of the terrorism-related attacks.
