The Pakistani media has said that the key to the success of the team lies in getting the correct combination for the team before they head into serious cricket, including the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy.
According to The Dawn, in the recent past, the lack of a fast bowling all-rounder has at times made it difficult for the team to find the right balance, adding that although a unbalanced spin bowling arsenal might do wonders but Pakistan will have to make sure they choose the right combination in the British Isles.
The report further said that batting, which has traditionally been Pakistan's weakness, may further worsen due to the prevalent conditions in England that are expected to assist lateral movement, adding that the issue may be magnified with the appointment of Australian Trent Woodhill as the batting coach for the Champions Trophy.
However, the report said, focus has returned back in the game following a two-month break with elections and a change of the government, adding that Pakistan has seemed to have found some stability in its selection and administration with Misbah-ul-Haq being retained as captain while Zaka Ashraf became the first democratically elected chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
