Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Shahryar Khan has said that they have given a proposal to play the upcoming World T20 at neutral venues as the country's participation to tour India is subject to government clearance.

Shahryar revealed that they made the proposal during the recent ICC Board meeting in Dubai, saying that they were ready to play the matches at neutral venues in case the Pakistan Government did not give the permission to tour India due to security concerns, the Dawn reported.

Shahryar said that there had been many incidents in the recent times which suggested that there were indeed Pakistan-specific threats in India.

The 81-year-old said that there were more chances of attacks on the cricketers than any other sportspersons, adding that he hopes the ICC would hold the matches in Sri Lanka or United Arab Emirates in case the government's decision is negative.

Earlier, Australia also withdrew from the Junior World Cup in Bangladesh due to safety and security concerns.

The T20 pinnacle event is slated to be held between March 11 to April 3 in India.
