Former Pakistan captain Javed Miandad has expressed his dismay and shock over the national selectors dropping ace off-spinner Saeed Ajmal from Pakistan's tour to Sri Lanka, adding they have shattered his confidence by keeping him out.
Miandad said he could not understand why the selectors did not give Ajmal a chance in the upcoming tour.
Ajmal has played only two ODIs and one T20 since his return from the ICC ban on his bowling action.
But his poor performance on the Bangladesh tour led to his omission from the Test series against Sri Lanka starting June 17.
However, despite his poor performance in the domestic cricket, he was signed by Worcestershire as English County captain Daryl Mitchell termed him a "valuable asset".
