Condemning the terror strike on the Army Public School in Peshawar, Pakistan on Tuesday stated that the terrorists who carried out the 'despicable' act have no respect for human life. The Islamic Republic further stated that resolute in its commitment to eliminate terrorism from its soil.
"The people of Pakistan are deeply shocked and grieved at the despicable act of terrorism in a Peshawar school this morning. The terrorists have once again shown that they have no regard for human life and no respect for children. Such cold blooded cowardly acts cannot weaken resolve of people of Pakistan," the Pakistan Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.
"These terrorists are enemies of Pakistan, enemies of Islam and enemies of humanity. We pay our homage to our brave soldiers who are engaged in a valiant effort to root out terrorism from the country," it added.
The ministry also reaffirmed that the country will remain united in the condemnation of the terror attack.
"Pakistan stands united in condemning this heinous crime and remains resolute in its commitment to eliminate terrorism from the country's soil. In this hour of grief, our hearts go out to families of these young children who embraced martyrdom today," the statement read.
The attack on Peshawar's Army Public School by the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has reportedly led to the death of 130 people, including at least 100 students.
According to reports, around 10 terrorists had stormed the Peshawar school dressed as Frontier Corps officers. Two to three militants were killed while scaling its walls. One of the militants reportedly blew himself up, while another terrorist had over 50 captives in his custody.
A strong contingent of police and security forces reached the spot and blocked the area as the operations took place. The police reportedly surrounded the school perimeter.
Meanwhile, TTP spokesman Muhammad Khorasani has said that the attackers were instructed to target the older students but not the younger ones.
