In the wake of increasing Chinese transgression in Pangong Tso Lake area in Tibet, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar has directed the India Army to take up this issue with the Chinese authorities during their flag meeting.
Sources in the Ministry of Defence (MoD) said Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar has directed the India Army to take up this issue with the Chinese authorities.
Sources said the People's Liberation Army (PLA) transgressed in the Chumar area in southern Ladakh 16 times this year, which is more than the incidents of transgression reported last year.
The Defence Minister is likely to visit China next month during which the two sides will finalise hotline services at the army headquarters as well as local commanders' level, they said.
Earlier, PLA troops were spotted at forward posts along the Line of Control (LoC) on the Pakistani side of Kashmir.
