Sir Paul McCartney has hired a personal instructor in attempt to learn skiing during his winter break in the French Alps.

According to the Mirror, the Beatles great's 53-year-old spouse, Nancy Shevell, who has accompanied him on the trip, has chosen their warm private lodge over the icy slopes.

McCartney is apparently taking a break after filming a special TV show, dubbed 'The Night That Changed America: A Grammy Salute to The Beatles', to commemorate 50 years since the group made their debut on American television.
