The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is currently holding talks with the cricket boards of West Indies and Sri Lanka over hosting a home series in the middle of next year.
According to the Express Tribune, the PCB's top officials are engaged in discussions to host a home series following the conclusion of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) final, which is scheduled to take place in Lahore.
"Yes, PCB's top officials are engaged in talks with their counterparts in West Indies and Sri Lanka and hopefully one of these teams will tour Pakistan after the conclusion of PSL," the source quoted as saying.
No Test side has toured Pakistan since the March 2009 militants attack on the Sri Lankan cricket team bus in Lahore, killing six Pakistani policemen and injuring some of the visiting players.
However, low-ranked sides namely Afghanistan and Zimbabwe had toured the country for a limited-over series.
Last year, the PCB held discussions with the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) to play a few matches in Pakistan, but the series could take place due to security concerns.
