Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Wednesday welcomed the Election Commission (EC)'s decision to announce state assembly poll dates and expressed confidence that people will vote for his party based on their work.
"The elections dates have been announced, we are happy about it. Model Code of Conduct is now in place, we will put in best efforts for the elections. We will fully dedicate ourselves for election campaign no, we will be responsible towards our work in the government also," Nitish told media here.
"We have been working day and night, and people know it. We will go to people and we are confident that they will vote for us based on our work," he added.
The Election Commission today announced five phase polling for the assembly elections in Bihar beginning on October 12.
The results of the elections will be declared on November 8.
