BJP's student's wing Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi parishad (ABVP) which recently swept the students union polls for the second consecutive year, met Prime Minister Narendra Modi here on Wednesday.
"We met Prime Minister and the BJP president today and discussed the issues faced by students in the university. Modiji asked us to focus on empowering students and not just student unions," DUSU president Satender Awana said.
The newly elected office bearers met Prime Minister Modi along with the Bharatiya Janata Party president Amit Shah and discussed various issues concerning the varsity.
The ABVP bagged the posts of president, vice-president, secretary and joint secretary defeating National Students' Union of India (NSUI) candidates with a margin of over 4,500 votes each in the fiercely fought elections held last week.
