Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday met Tulsi Gabbard, a member of the US Congress.
Gabbard, who is the only Hindu in the American House of Representatives, presented Prime Minister Modi with a garland of ginger flowers from her native state Hawaii.
She also took to twitter to share her enthusiasm at meeting the Prime Minister.
"So wonderful meeting Prime Minister .@narendramodi, and welcoming him to the US! #ModiInAmerica," she tweeted.
Gabbard had earlier attended Prime Minister Modi's speech at the Madison Square Garden here and was very impressed by his address.
"@narendramodi Crowd roars YES to Modi request to help clean and purify the holy Ganges River #ModiInAmerica," she tweeted.
