Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday paid tributes to Jivatram Bhagwandas Kripalani on his birth anniversary.

"Tributes to Acharya Kripalani on his birth anniversary. His ideals and strong commitment to serve the poor continue to inspire," Prime Minister Modi tweeted.

Acharya Kripalani, who shares his birth anniversary with freedom fighter Maulana Azad, was the president of the Indian National Congress in 1947.
