The Smart City project comes under an ambitious programme of the NDA government the 'Smart Cities Mission'.
The Prime Minister will launch 14 projects for Pune, along with 69 for other cities, which will come up with a total investment of about Rs 1,770 crore.
The 20 selected cities would be linked through video conferencing.
Saturday's launch will also mark the beginning of the implementation of the urban development plans including AMRUT Mission.
The Prime Minister will also inaugurate a 'Make Your City SMART' contest and Smart Net Portal will also be launched.
